What is Sauga Transit?

Sauga Transit is a transit simulator inspired by Mississauga’s Transit system, hosted on the Roblox platform. We are a virtual community of many transit enthusiasts and transit fans coming together to roleplay transit bus operations based in Mississauga.

Our Story

Sauga Transit started in 2015 by a Roblox Toronto Transit Commission, or TTC Developer, theawesomeSC4sim as MiWay on Roblox. Inspired by the group he was developing for, and wanting to create his own style, he founded the group in July 2015.

He was working on a few new buses for his group, but he wanted to start his operations as soon as he could. He rented out a few Nova Bus LFS demonstartors from the Roblox TTC for his own group. Four buses were rented and rebuilt to MiWay specifications.

Testing of the vehicles began in August 2015 on a Map he made in 2013 to 2014. The Testing went well, and on October 3, 2015, the inaugural Run commenced at the same testing map, with 12 members. The first debut route was the 5 Dixie, which ran from Applewood GO, a train station rejected by the Tobes Transportation Authority, to a few roads known as the “Lenon Drive”.

Operations with the Nova demonstrators continued for a few months, and then retired on Feburary 2016 because he finished the new buses! Although the new buses had a rough start, they were able to be fixed over time.

New routes began to debut, such as the 51 Tomken, 76 City Centre-Applewood, 26 Burnhamthorpe, and the 18 Lenon. The map itself expanded and grew over time.

MiWay on Roblox changed its name to Sauga Transit to comply with a Roblox Terms of Service update in March 2019.

Sauga Transit’s first articulated bus with bendable bellows entered service on May 22, 2019 on routes 5 & 26 respectively. The bellows were the first ever on a Roblox transit bus to realistically bend when the vehicle turns.

Roblox’s most detailed New Flyer Xcelsior bus made exclusively by theawesomeSC4sim entered service in August 2019. They were rebuilds of the first-generation vehicles in 2016 and with 3 new vehicles added to the fleet.

As of December 2023, Sauga Transit has over 3100 supporters and over 500 active members worldwide. The group continues to grow as the days come.
